• Ladies' 5s lose to Phoenix & Ranelagh

  Becky was despairing of having a team but in the end we had fourteen for the last game of the season. Phoenix & Ranelagh needed to win to avoid relegation.

  Friday night at 8pm - what a crazy time for a re-arranged league game! Abingdon could not book their pitch on a Sunday so Friday evening it was.

• Ladies' 5s struggle against high-flyers Thame

  We always knew it was going to be a tough game and it was that. Thame 1's really shouldn't be in this division but they are.

• Ladies' 5s beat Oxford with their best ever hockey yet

  Ladies' 5s started well converting 2 short corners into goals in the first 2 minutes of the match. Oxford were left standing watching the ball go past.

  We started well. Soon the defence to start getting confused with Newbury wearing red. Time stopped & Newbury got into our away shirts.

  We started feeling positive but it was obvious straight away, that this was a different side to what we had met earlier in the season.

• Ladies' 5s beat Aylesbury easily

  We expected a tough game against Aylesbury as they are above us in the league, albeit with a game in hand. It was our 1st match back after Christmas and we won!

• Ladies' 5s lost 4-1 to Sonning after a good competitive game

  The Ladies' 5s lost to Sonning Ladies 4s going down 4-1 after a good competitive game. The score was not a true reflection of the balance of play.

• Ladies 5s drew with Wycombe - a good result!

  In a close-fought game Ladies' 5s went 0-1 down against Wycombe. However they fought back to draw 2-2 in the 2nd half. A great result as they lost 0-7 last year

• Ladies' 5s lose to Thame gracefully

  We knew today's game was going to be hard. Thame have scored over 70 goals already this season and only conceded one goal. We lost 1-12 but what a game!

  We came out with a positive attitude after a good warm up and knowing Oxford are bottom of the league. Could this be why we sat back slightly?

  Consternation on Friday when Becky shut a door on her fingers. Like a trooper Becky decided she was coming anyway - just as well she was bringing half the team!

  With a small army of fifteen players, Oxford Hawks Ladies' 5s won 3-1 beating Phoenix & Ranelagh in Reading.

  Oxford Hawks Ladies' 5s convincingly beat Amersham & Chalfont 4-1 at home in Oxford on a beautiful sunny day.

  A cracking 3-2 win on a day that was far too hot. Hawks were 2-0 up at half time. Banbury retaliated but Hawks still held the edge to the end.
