Hawks Players

Fantasy League 2009-2010

Week 13

No change for the top two players with Laura Scragg and Megan Wilds still in first and second, but a Senator has crept into the top 3! Mark Crowley’s four goals and MOM on Saturday have earnt him 36 points and rocketed him up to third. In fact this is the highest score yet from any individual all season! (sorry Adrian, you didn’t have that record for long!) John Pratt and Peter Bennett also picked up big Logoscores of 22 points, with Jacqui Barlow next with 19.

On the managerial front, Ian McGregor is now over 100 points ahead! He will shortly have to look into flights to attend the awards ceremony on 17th April at the Dinner Dance? Ian’s ‘Aussie’s Heroes’ had an excellent week, picking up 95 points, mainly thanks to Mark Crowley and Peter Bennett! Ian Sobey is still second with wife Wendy third, but John Kaluza’s ‘Bish Bash Bosh’ has jumped into 4th with the highest score of the week (138), mainly thanks to a big score Philfrom Mark Crowley! And also Jacqui Barlow. Second biggest score of the week was 124 from Andy Clark’s ‘Dyslexia Untied’, thanks again to Mark Crowley. The biggest non-Mark-Crowley score was from Phil (female) Williams’ ‘The Busy Bees’ with 103, mainly from the sticks of Jacqui Barlow, Dick Heinrich and Linda Phillips.

Week 12

The top 6 places are now occupied by Harriers players!! But they now have no more games – can the rest of the club play catch-up? Only a few weeks left! Biggest score of the week was 34 points fromJess the Harriers’ Jess Oakhill, but since that was actually a double-points scoring game, this means that the highest unweighted score was from Sean Cox, with his goal and MOM in the Mens 4s win. Abi Flory was up there too, with 17 points, also from a goal and MOM in her win.

On the team front Ian McGregor’s ‘Aussie’s Heroes’ are stretching away!! The Sobeys are in pursuit but the gap is getting bigger every week! (How does he do it?). Andy Brown has had other things to concentrate on this week and as a result his team has suffered, with ‘And the winner is’ dropping out Brownyof the top 5, replaced by Sally Clark’s ‘The bananas that say mush’. In fact the female S. Clarks have had good weeks, with Sue picking up the highest score of the week (116) closely followed by Sally’s 111, mainly thanks to the Harriers’ elements in their squads.

Week 11

No change at the top of the players table – can the Harriers hold on to the lead until the end of the season? They currently have all top five spots! Mark Crowley however has jumped from 50th to joint 7th, Chairthanks to his brace and MOM in his double-points Senators game! However the most impressive score of the week has to be the season’s record so far – 30 points from Adrian Higgins! A clean sheet, 2 goals and MOM for the Chairman. Can anyone top that??

On the managers front the top 4 are unchanged (Ian McGregor, Ian Sobey, Wendy Sobey, Josh Tomlinson) however Andy Brown’s ‘And the winner is’ has just sneaked into the top five. Biggest score of the Hello Kate!!week was from Andy Clark’s ‘Dyslexia Untied’ – a huge 107 points from good all round scoring from almost all his players. Oh, and from having Mark Crowley. Lifelong Hawks supporter Kate Long was only a point behind Andy as ‘I hope this team is better than my dress sense’ picked up 106 points mainly thanks to Adrian’s ridiculously huge score. At the wrong end of the table there is no change, with Keith Taylor’s side still only having got 5 players who have scored him any points at all…

Week 10

No change at the top of the players table as the Harriers still have the top 6 spots, headed up by Laura Scragg. The Falcons occupy the next three places, with Rogan Meadows, Ian Sobey and Steve Griffiths helping to lift the average age of the top ten. Biggest score of the week was from Peter Bennett in the Fledglings win, with 25 points for his hat-trick in their 6-1 win. Next biggest score is from the Mens 4s! Mike Hughes’ brace and MOM makes him the highest scorer for the Mens 4s. In fact, here are the top players by team Mikeafter 10 weeks:

Mens 1s – Steve Collier
Mens 2s – Ben Cowan
Mens 3s – Hugh Lazenby
Mens 4s – Mike HughesCharlotte
Fledglings – Guy Biggs
Senators – Ed Baldock
Falcons – Rogan Meadows

Ladies 1s – Fiona Walton
Ladies 2s – Anna Clark
Ladies 3s – Charlotte Burrows
Ladies 4s – Molly Warne
Harriers – Laura Scragg

(Remember the teams are the ones which the players were allocated to at the start of the season, not necessarily the ones which they have been playing in all year!)

On the managers’ front, Ian McGregor’s ‘Aussies Heroes’ still have top spot, 47 points (!) ahead of Ian Sobey’s ‘Grey Bears’. Sam Clark’s ‘Make my meal happy Blackburn!’ picked up the biggest score of the week with 106 points, thanks to good all round scoring from every one of his players. Josh Tomlinson’s ‘Spax’ has rocketed into the top ten with a Sophiehuge 99 points mainly thanks to his Mens 1s combination of Nick Ferraby and Steve Collier. Keith Taylor’s cheapo team are still rock bottom, perhaps proving that the player pricing was indeed just about correct? George Ratcliffe and Andrew Sheridan have the next bottom two spots, with Sophie Wilson’s ‘Top Trumps Two’ keen to join the party in the basement.

Week 9

No change on the top spot on the players table – Laura Scragg still holds on to that – but all the Harriers below have changed around a bit! Megan Wilds and Ella Markham now complete the top three. Biggest score of the week (remember it was double points for the Harriers again!) was for the Harriers’ Jess Oakhill with her goal and MOM in their 4-0 win earning her a huge 38 points!

SallyOn the team front we have a change! Who ever said that long distance doesn’t work? As Ian McGregor’s ‘Aussie’s Heroes’ have bumped Ian Sobey’s ‘Grey Bears’ off top spot. And to make things worse for Sobes, wife Wendy has trampled over him up to second too. Sally Clark has had the best week of everyone, with a huge 105 points moving ‘The bananas that say mush’ from 7th up to 4th. Henri Coles’ inspirationally named ‘Henri’s best team ever’ had the next best week, with her 95 points moving her to 11th. Jess Oakhill and Rogan Meadows are the main reason behind Henri’s success, while Sally has Laura Scragg, Pete Harvey and again Jess to thank. At the wrong end of the table there is no change, with Keith Taylor, George Ratcliffe and Sophie Wilson proudly hanging on to the bottom three.

Week 7

Biggest player score this week came from Ella Markham, with her 28 point haul in the Harriers 2-0 win. Remember the Harriers games are Ellaworth double points as they have less fixtures! So in fact Guy Biggs 25 points from this week was sort of the highest score, as he scored a brace and got MOM in the Fledglings big win. The top 5 player scores are now all occupied by Harriers – but remember they have had effectively 9 games already whereas most teams have had only 4 or 5. Steve Griffiths is now the top Falcon as he has rocketed into the top ten with his 23 points from this week.

On the manager front we have a change! Wendy Sobey’s ‘Black Bears’ have dropped off the top to third, while husband Ian’s ‘Grey Bears’ take up the vacant spot. Ian McGregor may have gone but he’s certainly not forgotten, as his ‘Aussie’s Heroes’ picked up the biggest score of the week and have jumped into 2nd, just 4 points behind Ian. Mike Kentfield’s ‘Mighty Marauders’ had a good week with 97 points, mainly thanks to Guy Biggs, Peter Bennett and Steve Griffiths.

Double Points

Fixture update - because of all the disruption thanks to the weather, the Senators game on 6th February will now count for double points. All other postponed games should hopefully be replaced by the rearranged fixtures.

Week 6

All this snow has caused a few Fantasy League headaches, but hopefully all the games will be rearranged shortly so we can amend the fixtures to be included. So the only games which have contributed to the FL this week are the Ladies 1s, 2s and Senators.

Top scorer of the week was Senators keeper Jim Felix with MOM in their win helping him towards his 14 point haul, followed closely by Fithe Ladies 1s MOM Fi Walton who picked up 12. But still heading up the players table is the Harriers’ Laura Scragg, followed by Charis Knighton, with the Senators Ed Baldock slowly creeping up the ranks into 3rd!

Manager of the Week goes to Josh Tomlinson’s ‘Spax’ who picked up 38 points mainly thanks to just having Ladies 1s and 2s in his team. Er, and obviously excellent managerial decisions of course. Leading overall is still Sam Chilvers’ ‘Hit and Miss’ with Sally Clark just 13 points behind. John Kaluza’s ‘Bish Bash Bosh’ has also crept up the table into the top 3 for the first time!

Week 4

No change at the top as Sam Chilvers’ ‘Hit and Miss’ still holds top spot, but hot on his heels is Sally Clark’s ‘The bananas that say mush’ who has jumped into second. Biggest score of the week was Tomfrom Phil Hargraves’ ‘Pukka Pies’ with a whopping 70 points, mainly thanks to the hat trick from Tom Ward. At the wrong end of the table we amazingly have a change! Keith Taylor’s team of cheapies had a good week, mainly thanks to £4 defender Dunners scoring and getting MOM, So he has jumped above………..Andre Moriaty! His ‘Titans’ are now in last place (although admittedly it is a tie for last place but for some reason Andre is listed last!!).

SandraFor all those managers who were glad to see Sandra Satterly on the scoresheet – don’t celebrate too soon as I’m afraid that since she was listed as a Ladies 4s player at the time of ‘purchase’ her points from the Ladies 2s win will not count as the 4s did not have a game on the same day!! (Sorry H!) I know it’s an annoying rule but it’s in place to stop players getting points from more than the maximum of 13 fixtures….heh heh I love making the rules!

Anyway, on the player front, the top 4 remains unchanged, with the Harriers dominating. However Ed Baldock is keen to get in the mix as he continues his rise to the top, sneaking into the top five. Biggest score of the week was from the Senators Chris MacFarlane thanks to his brace and MOM in their 7-1 win.

Week 3

We have a change at the top! Sam Chilvers’ ‘Hit and Miss’ is now sitting in top spot. Now for those observant ones out there, you will notice that Sam didn’t feature in last week’s team list, but don’t worry - it’s all legit!! His team was indeed entered on time but needed one change which has only just been made. So Ian McGregor’s ‘Aussie’s Heroes’ is pushed into second spot with Linda Phillips’ ‘Spitfires jumping up to third, mainly thanks to big scores from her Harriers Sally Clark and Ella Markham. At the wrong end, Keith Taylor’s ‘Cheapest Team and Nick Ferraby’ still proudly prop up the table, but they are facing stiff competition from ‘Sheri’s Stunners’, managed by Andrew Sheridan. Biggest score of the week came from Gill Petrokovsky’s ‘Bruise Brothers and Sisters’ who picked up 118 points to jump to 5th, mainly from the sticks of Rogam Meadows, Megan Wilds and Linda Phillips.

LauraOn the players front, a goal, clean sheet and Man of the Match from the Harriers defender Laura Scragg has not only given her the highest score of the week – she now has top spot in the Players table! Chris Debney picked up 28 points with his hat trick in the Mens 2s win, but unfortunately the only person to benefit from this is ….. Chris Debney! Sorry – no-one else bought you!

Week 2

Again remember that not all teams have had games which contribute to the Fantasy League – this weekend coming will be the first one where all games count! But there is a change at the top with Ian IanMcGregor’s ‘Aussie’s Heroes’ stealing the top spot, mainly thanks to having big points hauls from Mark Crowley in the Senators win, and Alex Cherry and Kirsty Davies from the Ladies 4s. He’s only two points ahead of Catherine Taylor’s ‘Taylors Trophy Team’. Catherine’s husband Keith is not faring so well as he sits in last place with a mere 13 points. His team name ‘The Cheapest Team and Nick Ferraby’ might give you an indication why? (Nick – not because you are in it just in case you were wondering…). In third place is Pip‘Evelyn’s Swifts’ managed by Evelyn Hargraves who has also had a good week thanks to Mark Crowley and Linda Phillips. Special mention to John Kaluza’s ‘Bish Bash Bosh’ with the biggest score of the week – his 57 points have brought him just inside the top ten, mainly coming from the sticks of Ed Baldock and Mark Crowley, and also Pip Quested from the Ladies 4s.

The players table is still unsuprising dominated by the Harriers, as they have had many more point-scoring games than everyone else. Charis Knighton still has top spot, but Ed Baldock has sneaked into 3rd with his hat trick in the Senators win!

Week 1

It's up and running!! The top scorers on the pitch are dominated by the Harriers, with Charis Knighton leading and Sally Clark and Laura Scragg not far behind. Remember the results from the first week or two may be a bit misleading, as not all teams have played games which contribute to the Fantasy League (for example,Molly the Harriers only have 9 games in their season so all the ones which have already taken place will count for points, and all remaining ones count for double points!). Each team has 13 participating games - to find out which ones are included, check out the ‘Fixtures’ tab on the website. The early leader on the Team front is Molly Warne’s ‘The Best Team Ever!' with Ian McGregor’s Aussie’s Heroes not far behind. Sue Clark is then just ahead of daughter Sally with Linda Phillips’ ‘Spitfires’ making up the top five.

Note: the Fledglings fixtures to be used needs to change yet again as Gerrards Cross have pulled out of the league. So this weekend’s fixture WILL now count towards FL, and it has been decided that the fixture last weekend will also be included (rather than have a future game being worth double points). So you’re smiling if you’ve got Tony Silman!

Games which count this weekend: L1s, L3s, L4s, Fledglings, Senators.
